Dr. Anthony Johnson leads the Research and Evaluation Team of researchers and statisticians. The Team is available to consult with organizational leaders on the construction and maintenance of REDCap and other databases to improve the collection and analysis of data. Data-driven decision-making is crucial for several reasons:
Objective Evidence and Insights: to improve efficacy and community impact leaders need to make decisions that go beyond gut feelings and intuitions. Data analysis provides objective evidence or science-based data, to inform and guide the decision-making process.
Objective rather than subjective or biased perspectives increase the potential for success, leading to the achievement of goals and objectives.
Validation and Verification: Validated and reliable data supports the decision and guides the action steps of the implementation team. Through data situations and conditions can be quantified and better understood.
Resource Optimization: Using research data can support leaders to correctly allocate limited resources, including time, effort, and financial investments. Resource Optimization and real time insights lead to performance optimization and the achievement of community impact.
Under the leadership of Dr. Anthony Johnson, the team will offer the following:
• Support setting up REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture)
• Assistance identifying variables and metrics
• Statistician services
• Custom research services
• Consumer panels
• Multiple sampling methods
• Qualitative research (interviews, focus groups)
• Quantitative research
• Survey design and fielding
• Analysis and research report writing
In response to the high rates of HIV in the Black/African American same gender loving men (SGLM)/ men who have sex with men (MSM) community, the team is also rolling out two initiatives for 2025:
• Mentoring regional and local mentoring programs for Black
• A certified FUBU (for us by us) Prevention intervention model focused on Resilience.
The intervention is based on the doctoral dissertation of Anthony Johnson, PhD and is research based.
